How can I makeover my yard without using grass/weeds (dog allergic)?

I am handicapped so gravel or stones is out, it would cost a fortune to hire someone to put down pavers, any ideas?

maybe a vet can prescribe some medicine for your dog-might be cheaper in the long run!

  • Where do you live Arlene? Does it snow? How big is the yard? Pavers would be the least expensive option overall. Even if you have a faux grass installed, that will cost much more than pavers. Even though a lawn is not in the picture, you still need a soft area for the dog to roll around on and lay in.

    • So welcome! I hope it works out as that would be easy maintenance if your dog can tolerate the clover or thyme. One less thing to worry about.

Fake grass. It’s not the old Astro-turf, it really looks like grass. You still have to pick up the poop & wash down the pee.

get cedar shavings in bulk and cover your area--soft,easy to walk on, repels bugs , smells good get from barn supply store for cheapest prices pet safe; should not give dog any over the counter meds without help of vet don't think it is cheap to take any pets to vet; is your dog allergic to grass or does it have fleas flea allergies? I had dog that had both very costly to have him treated try the cedar shavings

You could rip out the turf, level the group and put down a decomposed granite ..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-r0vzUv6vU
