Walk them.
There are two things that are effective to keep dogs from marking your lawn as their territory and thus compete with other dogs doing the same: a fence, or moth balls. If you do not desire to build a fence (which is what we did to stop people walking their dogs between houses to use our lawn for their pets to go on our lawn), you can put out a box of mothballs. They evaporate and do not harm the ground water, but be aware of any toddlers near your home that might see one and put it in your mouth. If you live in an area without small children, you should be safe, especially if you can put up a sign "moth balls" or such to warn children not to touch them.
You can crush up the moth balls and scatter around your yard.
We have many dogs in our neighborhood, they are walked around the neighborhood at least once a day. We have never had grass die off on the front lawn or the boulevard from them or our dogs. The are great neighbors, they always pick up their dogs poo. We have one tree that every dog has to use and the grass around it is healthy as ever. I guess we are lucky with not having that problem, but the dogs have to go somewhere.
Just know moth balls are poisonous to animals.
