Hi, JoAnn: Hon, I'm afraid elbow grease is involved here! I mix up half water and half bleach, put in a spray bottle and get my garden foam pads for my knees! Using gloves, an old toothbrush and a few sponges, spray the bealch mixture, scrub with toothbrush and dry with sponges! Happy scrubbing!!!

You can use toilet bowl gel cleaner on grout, but yes there is scrubbing. If you want to change the color of your grout, Maepi makes grout refresh. Amazon has the most colors, but Floor and Decor sells it cheaper.

I have changed my grout color and it has lasted for years because it has a sealer in it.

I clean the grout after cleaning the floor. The grout is deeper than the tile suface, so it can collect the solution you use. I just use hot water and a toothbrush or brush to get the grout clean if it has accumulated dirt. I run a dry rag or old towel over it when I am done to make sure that the dirty water isn't left on the grout. I have medium brown tiles and light grout with four dogs and three cats (babysitting daughters cat) and the grout doesn't stay light for long with all the rain we have gotten this year.

My ceramic tile is over 50 years old. I got down on my knees with a brush larger than a toothbrush and used Barkeepers friend to clean it. I have tried many different cleaners but none have given me clean, white grout until I tr>ed Barkeepers friend. It comes in liquid and powdered. For the grout, I prefer liquid. It does take elbow grease the first time but is easier the times after. I do the grout and tub. The floor I do every other month and just wet mop in between. Good luck!
