I purchased a cleaning cloth over 15 years ago. I got it at WalMart and it was very inexpensive. I just rub the jewelry with the cloth and it cleans it up quick & easy.

place in bowl of warm water use Dawn dish soap and medium to soft bristle toothbrush removes built up skin cells/lotion/any products on silver;towel dry with soft white towels no fabric softener on it. to polish use white cheap toothpaste no gel with soft toothbrush and little water rub a dub til desired shine clean/rinse with warm water( rub off toothpaste with the toothbrush in bowl of warm water), dry with white towel(no fabric softeners-it leaves residue causing streaking/smearing). if you have intricate design use wooden toothpicks or tiny bottle or straw brushes(not the metal ones;good for undersides/bottoms of rings) to clean them. Wood toothpicks won't scratch the metal or stones that are set in it. Keeping seldom worn silver jewelry items in air tight(remove all air) baggies helps keep silver from tarnishing so rapidly.

I sell a lot of silver on Ebay. Jewelry, silverware, serving sets. Silver polish like Wrights and dips like TarnX tend to remove some of the metal. The foil method doesn't work that great and still leaves a grey film that still needs to be removed. I use white toothpaste (not gel) and a damp toothbrush. For large items I use a damp cloth. Also works on copper, brass, gold, porcelain, ceramics, sneakers, plastics, etc. For my sales I needed one product for cleaning everything.
