Are there any tricks for power washing the house's siding?

My townhouse has shingle siding a few doors down someone pressure washed and it looks brand new. I have never had that kind of results. Any idea what they may have used?

Hi Carolyn, they may have used higher pressure or maybe used Oxi-Clean along with pressure washing, or some other cleaner. Why not just knock on their door, compliment them on how nice their place looks since pressure washing and ask what they used? I bet they'd be pleased you noticed and share their secret with you.

You can rent pressure washers by the day or buy a little less effective pressure washer you add to your own hose that will do almost as well, especially if you go over it more than once. Home improvement stores have the pressure washer attachments to use at home and are well worth the money for pressure washing the home, deck, tires and wheels on vehicles, sidewalks and more.

Before power washing, try using Wet and Forget. You mix it in a pump sprayer and as the name suggests, you wet it and forget it. Let Mother Nature rinse it off over time. In a month, you'll notice a big difference. Works great for dirt and mildew. I seldom pressure wash my patio and driveway anymore and I have never pressure washed my house or roof.
