I use cayenne pepper powder sprinkles on the soil, then grate Irish spring soap bars generously on the soil, too. I bought a small hand grater at the dollar store and keep it with my garden things by the bars of soap. The cayenne needs to be reapplied if it rains or it is losing its effectiveness, it takes longer for the grated soap to be replaced. It works for me, give it a try!

I agree about the cayenne pepper and irish spring soap too. Also, some people put a small flat old pie tin or something along the edge of the property for squirrels to find easy food. Making easy food accessible helps them not to be so determined to get by the hindrances. Just a thought for the squirrels.

Look for animal repellent at your local home improvement store.

Hi Eva, sorry the squirrels are eating your fruits and vegetables. Hope this is helpful. Vinegar is another natural squirrel repellent that you can use to protect plants and trees, but also to deter squirrels from your attic. Pour apple cider vinegar into a spray bottle and spray it on the flower pots, branches, near the holes in your attic, small crevices, and where squirrels are frequently found.May 11, 2018
