Rustoleum has a product available in spray or brisk on. I habe heard spray is hard to control and both have horrible fumes. I think there are a couple others sold at big box stores and painting supply stores. If surface is not perfectly clean before you paint you will be facing peeling paint that is extremely hard to remove because of the bonding agent involved. Good luck!

  • You sure can!!! Dixie Belle just came out with a new product called "Slick Stick"! Its awesome for slippery surfaces. I would recommend first cleaning with DBP White Lightning then Slick Stick and then DBP and then finish with Dixie Belle Gator Hide. It really is pretty! Here is a picture of what one of our customers did. Its floor tile but it can be used on bathroom tile as well. Hope that helps and if you have anything else we can help you with please let us know. - Teri icon www.dixiebellepaint.com

There are paints made for use on ceramic tile.... and there are companies that specialize in refinishing bathroom tile in showers... you can do it yourself... but get the right paint and comply with all of the steps needed to prepare the tile surface for paint and seal as recommended...

A professional tile restorer or refinisher will have all the tools and products needed for a long lasting refinish job.

Hi there - YES you can.

After you’ve cleaned your shower tile thoroughly, sand the tiles with a 150 grit sandpaper. This will help get rid of any other build up that you missed and roughen up the tile so that the paint will adhere.

Tape up the areas that meets the tile and grout that you don’t want to paint.

Using an angled brush, prime the area you want to paint with Seal Krete Primer or a similar product. Then roll on 1 solid coat of primer on all the shower tiles

Use the same angled brush to apply a coat of Seal Krete Paint or a similar product. Follow up by rolling on a coat of paint on all the desired shower tiles. Let the paint dry (about 2 hours) and repeat. A total of 4 coats is recommended – 1 primer, and 3 paint! Your tile may take less or more all depending on coverage and design that needs to be covered.

    Happy painting

They make kits for that sold at Home Depot. Several step process, prep is key. The kits include step by step instructions. It will last several years, but eventually peel once scratched or if prep is not done perfectly.

Rustoleum and Homex make Tub and Tile paint found at home and hardware stores.

  • Charly Charly on Jul 11, 2017

It's all in the prep work. Yes you can use the tub and tile kit but make sure you stick to the directions. I painted the tiles around my tub about 3 years ago and it's just as beautiful as the first day. But it took about 2 weeks to complete because I didn't hurry the process. And I'm not sorry because it worked!

The best is resine paint, like those for kitchen cabinets and tiles. One single layer, and maximum resitance...

If you are looking for a low cost update, you can paint the tiles. First clean well to make sure there is no soap residue. Then sand lightly. Apply a coat of a bonding primer that is made to help the paint adhere. Then paint. The paint will cover the grout lines. If you want to keep the appearance of grout lines, use a paint pen after to paint the grout lines.

  • There are paints and kits available for this but know, if you use the shower often, it’s likely the paint won’t last. Between the water, heat, cleaning, and steam, it’ll wear away or peel.

Hi, check your local home depot or lowes and you'll find that Rustoelum makes tub and tile painting kits. I hear they work really well!

  • Kelli L. Milligan Kelli L. Milligan on Jul 16, 2019

Yes, the epoxy paint kits made for that sold at home depot is your best bet, step by step instructions are in the kit. All other paint techniques won't last as long. The epoxy kits last several years, enough To save up for a remodel.

They sell a special primer and paint just for glass tiles. Make sure to follow directions EXACTLY

Rustoleum ( and other companies ) make a 'TUB and TILE' paint ... ask at any well stocked home improvement center, BUT real success depends on the prep work!

  • Homeroad Homeroad on Nov 18, 2021

I would use a special primer first but I am concerned with the fact that it is often wet and also cleaner is used so I don't think it will stick for long.

  • William William on Sep 02, 2018

Use Rustoleum or Homax tun and tile paint kits. They are epoxy based. Open windows, the smell is terrible.

  • Jewellmartin Jewellmartin on Sep 02, 2018

Yes, just use special tile paint on sanded tiles so the paint will adhere. If you are painting it all white, it might take two coats with curing in between. And with white, you can paint the grout at the same time. Best wishes, Louise! ☺️

  • Kelli L. Milligan Kelli L. Milligan on Oct 23, 2018

They sell the kits at Home Depot and the step by step instructions are in the kit. Prep is extremely important. Just know if you scratch it , it will peel after awhile, so realize it is a temporary fix.
