Hi Neoma: It's easy-- wasps and hornets HATE the scent of peppermint oil. Mix a tablespoon of peppermint oil with four cups of water, and you've got a powerful repellent spray; it's even effective enough to drive the wasps and hornets from their nests, but without dangerous chemicals. If you want to kill them, get a few large plastic pop (yeah, I'm from the midwest) bottles. Cut the tops about 1/2 inch below the place where it goes into the neck towards the top. Put about 1 inch of water in the bottom along with a piece of fruit. Take the cap off of the bottle and turn the top so that the hole of the top is inside of the bottle bottom. Be sure that the liquid is at least 1 inch from the bottle top opening. Place in a fairly sunny area. The wasps will go in, drawn by the fruit, and can't get out, so they drown. Then again, so do the bumble bees:( But, both work. If you see a nest. that's a different story. What you do is go out at night, wearing dark clothes, get a flashlight, turn it on and put it in the grass on one side of the nest so that the light is visible, maybe shining on the nest, about 4 or 5 feet away. Be sure all of the lights are out in the house, very important! Then, you get on the other side, away from the flashlight and spray the nest as best as you can and then hoof it into the house. Leave the flashlight there, it will get beaten up by the wasps! The wasps will come out of their nest, as mad as anything, and will sting what they see, the flashlight. Meanwhile, you are legging it into the dark house and they can't see you because the lights are out. Don't go out until the morning. You may have to do this a couple of nights. Good luck

Hey Neoma: Some people refer as pop as soda:) I hope the directions were clear enough for you to follow regarding cutting the bottle. Wasps and hornets are the worst:( Good luck getting rid of them.
