How do I cover kitchen countertops with contact paper?

Hi Julie! I used to be a renter, and many places that I lived years ago the homes were older, and they needed TLC. The landlords never gave me any problem if I wanted to do this. One place I lived the kitchen counters were so scratched and destroyed, that it looked just awful. I would measure the amount I would need to cover the countertops, and went to the discount store to pick out my favorite colors. I then made patterns of the counter size, and just placed the pattern on the contact paper on the correct side to fit to the counters. I did this a number of times when I was younger, and loved the look. Now the contact paper is much more advanced and you can get a real professional look.
