Some solar lights have batteries you can replace. You have to purchase the correct batteries for solar lights. Other solar lights that no longer work just need to be replaced.

You can usually purchase for $1 each at Dollar Stores, Kathie. Some call for rechargeable batteries and you can recharge those if they need it.

    Hi Kathie,

It depends on the solar lights. I just replace the $1 ones - although they have gone up a bit this year, unless you can find them on sale. If it's a special design you might be able to replace the light part. We have "ground butterflies" with a solar light between the wings. We've had them 4 or 5 years now and the lights finally stopped working. I found some lights at Walmart, took out the old light, took apart the new light so that I used the light only, then replaced the old with the new. Now my butterflies are lighting again at night. Wishing you the best.

I've seen some really cool lights for the outdoor table using candle holders and attaching the lights to the holder. Remove the stakes that hold them, paint them, and then glue into the candle holder. So cute.

What kind of bulbs are they? Are they small like fairy lights or do they have bigger bulbs? If they have bigger bulbs - you could turn them into Christmas ornaments. I'd love to see what kind of lights you have to better help.
