how big is it? what kind of metal? add piece of steel sheeting behind it so its magnetic and use as bulletin board for notes or pictures(attach with construction adhesive);add ribbon across front to hold pictures attach them with mini clothespins or colorful paper clips;hold an array of candles nice center piece;use to hold a bunch of different sized small planters in grouping;is it filigree open around edges? I used a small filigree tray upside down to hang old silverware from creating a set of chimes; could decoupage the center of tray and hang it on wall as decor;glue dried flowers on it for country charm wall decor; mixed media type art glue lots of your memorabilia all over it and hang on wall; add hooks and create rack for hanging towels,washcloths,scarves,kitchen utencils etc..
