How do I make an upholstered headboard from cardboard?

I’m looking for a template to draw on the cardboard and I can’t find one. Any suggestions. It will be for a twin. I thibk the shape I want is called ottoman

I would borrow the headboard I wanted and trace it. If you know of one of a friend, relative, or even local furniture store, ask permission and trace it! That is what my husband does when he wants to build it, he camera photos it or traces it like stairs, or anything.

You would need something sturdy like ply wood
