What is the best paint for use on outdoor wood furniture?

I have two hand made Adirondack chairs that were stained when I got them. It came off so I sanded and stained again. It peeled off. Now they are sanded again' I want to paint them white. Some one please help me. What is the best paint that will stay on out door wood furniture

For furniture it's best to use a satin or semigloss finish in either a latex or an oil-based paint. Never leave primer unpainted. If you choose a latex paint, a latex primer is an excellent choice for most uses. It goes on easily and blocks most stains, but itdoesn't have the odor of an oil-based primer.
