Our first house had a built in table in our kitchen.....much like a Murphy bed. Table had a door on it that matched our cupboards. When the door opened, the table was hinged and you pulled the table out and the one set of folded legs came down. It had Formica on the table part. Took up about as much space as a peninsula would.
