Patrick....I would think a weed killer would work. Have you made the homemade with 2 cups vinegar, 1/4 cup Epson salt...little.Dawn ..spray bottle and shake well.

Be aware that the vinegar in most DIY weed killers will kill anything it touches and if it gets into the soil, nothing will grow for a good bit of time unless you remove it.
