Purchase some of those little ant traps which the ants feed on and take the contents back to the nest. They work very well and are very reasonable in price. Place one where the ants are coming in.
Sprinkle diatomaceous earth around the openings and baseboards and windows (wherever you see the ants). Once they come in contact with it, it will kill them. You should also check to make sure doors and windows are sealed tight. I would also spread around the exterior of openings and on window sills, it's effective if it gets wet as long as it doesn't wash away.
Inspect your yard for ant beds and apply boiling water, Jiffy corn muffin mix, or Sevin to the mounds.
Hi Rhochelle - Those little buggers are relentless, aren't they?!? This is the most effective method and all-natural spray DIY that we use with ants. It's best indoors, but will also work outside with more frequent applications. It's even been featured on Hometalk! Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly

I use peppermint essential oil and rub around the area where you see the ants
