We used a homemade windmill. They hate the vibration and move on. Exactly why they invaded your sisters property. Santa Maria is beautiful! Hope she loves her new home!
We got rid of ours by dropping dirty cat litter into their tunnels.
We set up traps where they were coming and going right next to where they are tunneling. For example we set one up next to our shed since they tunnel under that and our front porch. It works well. I think their favorite food is cantaloupe. Switch location after a few days. Then re-locate them miles away in the woods.
We dug little holes and planted glass bottles leaving about an inch and half above the ground. When the wind blows they vibrate and make a noise those moles will leave.
