It sounds like a bug problem. If you can bath the entire plant roots and all the leaves under a shower being sure to remove all dirt then inspect roots and leaves for signs of infestation. If you found remaining insects try to remove them by hand or using a light organic bug killer apply that. Rinse and repot after in FRESH soil. TIP: There are some electronic bug chasers that really work keep insects at bay that can be used indoors and outdoors. I hope this helps.
