Plunge it hard, get a big bucket of hot water and pour it in being careful not to overflow, pour in a whole quart of liquid soap, wait a half hour, a teakettle of boiling water. Plunge more if necessary.

If I don't have a plunger, I squirt about a cup of handwashing soap from kitchen. Don't stir, just let go to the bottom. If tissue is in the way, take a throw away object and move the tissue out of the way so soap can get to the bottom. Wait about 20-30 minutes and flush. Be sure to keep hand on handle in case you need to stop water. When I flush I stop water from overflowing and wait and lo and behold it all goes down.

It takes a little bit of finesse to do this, but it usually works. Push down on the toilet flush handle just a tiny bit so water flows in to the bowl, but not out. When the toilet has enough pressure in the bowl, it will flush with a large volume of water and clear the clog. This only works if it is normal toilet stuff causing the problem. If someone flushed a cell phone or toy down, you will need to pull the toilet and reinstall after fishing out the offending debris.

If you donโ€™t have plunger you can add half cup of baking soda and then pour a cup of white vinegar into the bowl to unclog it.
