Deb...The waterproofing is definitely what you need to do. We did it in our basement and are very pleased. Good luck!

Hi Deb: I spray painted my basement walls and ceiling with regular latex paint. No problems at all, but my walls are dry, no water at all. If you're worried about moisture, I'd go with the waterproofing paint. Mine has been painted for over 15 years, and no problems at all.
