You have take everything out of both freezer and refrigerater, turn off. If have icemaker,, throw out all ice. Wash down with hot. Soapy water and a little bleach. Leave doors open . If still smells. Sprinkle baking soda on shelves and in freezer, let set overnight, wash out again.

Try this recipe https://familyfocusblog.com/fridge-odor-eliminator/ Of course, first check to make sure the fridge is clean and any rotten things have been throw away.

Great suggestions from Kelli, you also need to check the drip pan under the refrig.

  • My personal preference is to use a white vinegar solution rather than toxic bleach. Bleach and food don't mix, and if any trace is left, anything you place back in the refrigerator will be spoiled.

Fresh ground coffee, lots, used generously inside. All tractor trailer drivers do this to remove smells from the trailer between hauls.

Turn gridge off, empty out fridge, sprinkle baking soda on all shelves & use vinegar to activate. Remember your volcano making days. Let sit for awhile & using hot water clean it thoroughly. Keep door ajar to air out & then turn on and put a fresh box of opened baking soda inside. As already said, check your drip plate & clean as well. Hope it works.
