I have some old aluminum pans that belonged to my grandmother. How do I clean the black that is forming on the bottoms of the pans. I remember my grandma and mom doing something to them but do not remember what it was. Hope someone can help me.Thank youDebbie

The easiest is to use a steel wool scouring pad like SOS. Wet the pan (not the pad) and scrub. Barkeeper's Friend is a nice finish to brighten up aluminum pans.
SOS pads are your best option. That's what my grandma and mom used on their old aluminum pans.
Thank you, I will try this.
