How do you get hydrangeas to bloom?

My hydrangeas look very healthy and have lots of green stems, but no blooms. Any suggestions?

    Ask your florist. You need to add something to the soil to get them to bloom. Some times they have to be planted 2-3 years before they will start blooming. Then ask the florist or Google it and find which different chemicals will make them bloom different colors. We have white, blue and purple depending on what we add to the soil.

    Hi Smo,

    Have you been pruning your hydrangeas? If you have, that might be the problem. Some hydrangeas bloom on 'old' wood and some bloom on 'new' wood. If you cut off old wood when pruning a bush that blooms on old wood, you're cutting of next year's flowers. If you're not sure which type you have, this article might help:
