How can I keep nosy neighbors from spying?

A friend rents a home in an HOA community. Neighbors across the street have a camera set up and spy on her when she is on her front porch. I suggested a large plant stand with ornamental grasses and some hanging plants to block their view. Does anyone have any other ideas that would be acceptable to the HOA?

You call local enforcement. It is illegal to use a camera pointed at a specific place or person(s). That happened to my daughter. They had to remove the camera and place it in a area that is used for security ONLY!

    • Doesn't matter, it's illegal. Call the police. Problem solved. It would also help them if she kept a log as to dates and times she goes out there. Then when they review the video, they know what to look for. I would also put the HOA on notice too, as they are partly liable as well.

I kind of like that others are snoopy -- with too much time on their hands. I think it keeps my home safer.

If this is not a bonus to your friend... hanging basket and maybe some fast-growing bamboo will help.
