Can you help me troubleshoot my touchless kitchen faucet?

My touchless kitchen faucet turns on by itself once in a while. No one is in the kitchen and no pets in the house. Any idea how this happens?

    Hi Val,

    Here are possible explanatioins:

The spout may be in electrical contact with the sink. Make sure the spout insulating parts are in place.

With certain faucets (depending on what manufacturer) it is required that the supplied wiring is changed to connect to the supplied non-conductor-this is the ground. Also, make sure that spout sense wire and LED wire are not making occaisonal contact with metal parts under the sink. To fix this, adhere LED wire, battery wire, and spout sense wire to the back of the cabinet.

    Best to you.

Thanks so very much for the explanation. It’s happened four times and sometimes in the middle of the night. I always shut the faucet off if I am leaving the house. Maybe now I won’t have to. Thanks again.

If your touchless faucet has a problem, don't worry, there are solutions. Some problems may be solved by replacing the batteries. However, if you think that's not the case, then there are other solutions that could help. For example, if the problem is bad connections, you can try to clean them. You can also check if there is something blocking the sensor. Found a nice guide here: https://touchlessfaucets.info/how-to-troubleshoot-your-touchless-faucet-here-is-how-to-fix-it. Maybe you'll find also useful to fix your faucet.
