How can I fit tall closets inside a room with a low ceiling?

    You may be able to turn them on their sides.

    Are you building closets into that room if they are schranks or wardrobes or armoires?

    If the closets are too high for the ceiling, I am not sure you can force them to fit in there. They will touch the ceiling or just not fit at all -

    You could use a circular saw to trim them down and then reattach the bottom.

    If they have toe kicks then you can cut those off.

    The big problem is rotating them upright, as the diagonal or hypotenuse is always longer.

    If you know the ceiling joist spacing, you can remove the drywall and use the joist space to rotate them into place. Of course, that means patching the ceiling and possible insulation falling on your head & carpet.
