Sounds like it needs water. Ours also turned yellow when we over fertilized with weed n feed, we flushed it out with 2 hours of sprinkler water per day until it improved--about a week.
Some grasses go dormant during hot weather and will come back when it rains and cools a little.
Is it crispy? It might need water!
