Pledge will make your floors slippery. I did that once and almost broke my neck!
The best thing to do is to vacuum or sweep thoroughly first. Then use a slightly damp mop and cleaner. I like how Louis house for restoring wood floors.
I use liquid castile soap or dish soap in water. Murphy's Oil Soap also does a great job getting them clean.
I've used this combination for 15 years and my floors still look new. Wring the mop nearly dry.
½ cup apple cider vinegar
1 tsp blue Dawn
2 gallons warm tap water
