How do you get rid of mildew smell?

  • You need to find the source of the mildew. Once you do, a bleach solution of bleach and water should take care of it.

    Fresh air and a dehumidifier. Also bowls of vinegar help clean the air as they evaporate. Crumpled up newspaper also absorbs moans as does sprinkling baking soda on the area.

    First, get rid of the extra moisture. Use a dehumidifier if you have to. I set up a diffuser with tea tree oil, peppermint, and/or lemon to kill the germs in the air. I let it run for a few days to kill the smell.

    After you eliminate the source of the moisture, place damp rid to remove excess moisture. IF it's an ongoing issue, invest in a dehumidifier.

    White cleaning vinegar will kill mold spores.

    OdoBan is a disinfectant and will remove odors such as mildew as well as others.

    take a bag of charcoal and let some sit in a dish it'll absorb the smell like volcanic ash does
