If it's real bad you need pros. Not something to play with.

There are pro companies that do that.

You need a professional to remediate it because they know what their doing and have the professional equipment..... and because you can ruin your health. I was exposed to toxic mold at work, and my health took about 10 years to get to somewhat normal.

Hire an experienced and warranties pro. Please do not think chlorine bleach is going to fix this. Why?

Toxic mold almost killed me. After the hospitalization, treatment and being out of work for 3+ months - that was more than the cost of getting pros in there. We’re talking over $10K in medical treatments.

Call today the Third Party Mold Testing Companies

& have them tell you what they Test for, what kinds of tests (air, surface, scrape) & where they send their tests (which lab).

My mold Testers were an hour away, but they’re famous for owning their own lab and being Expert Witnesses in court cases. Therefore I paid the Trip Charge.

When you have your mold tests results, then you can hire a pro and get apples to apples bids. I paid my Mold Tester to write me a Scope Of Work.

    1. Stop whatever caused the mold (unless you need a roofer or a plumber)
    2. Kill and remove all the contaminated items & materials. Remove them.
    3. The entire building has mold spores in it. They can live for 50 years in ducts, cracks, ceiling & outlet boxes, and obviously carpet. Therefore the whole building needs to be addressed, professionally.
    4. Kilz encapsulates the mold. It is still in the building. There are anti-microbial dealers designed to seal surfaces, after removing the mold. There are air treatments like ozone & chlorine dioxide that pros use.
    5. Get a second pro THIRD PARTY Mold Test. The first one is to determine what beast they’re trying to slay and the second one is to make sure they deserve to be paid. As in they don’t get paid until it passes the Mold Testing.

  • Hi Maureen - There are several ways to get rid of mold, but most importantly, you need to address the root cause to keep it from returning. This article focuses on the bathroom, but is an overall great article that covers methods of how to remove mold, if bleach is safe to use, and how to prevent it from coming back. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
