What can I use to replace the backs of basement kitchen cabinets?

The basement kitchen in our home experienced some flooding and the wall behind the cabinets molded. We removed the cabinet backs to clean the cinder block wall and are planning on coating it with flex seal to prevent future mold. I need to figure out how to put some kind of backing on the cabinets so things don't fall out the back into the grossness behind. Any ideas?

1/4” plywood or lauan is inexpensive and can be cut to fit then nailed on the back of the cabinets... I hope this helps!
Go to a proper lumber yard and purchase cabinet grade plywood. Cut to fit. However, on the inside of the cabinet, I would not leave the wood raw. I would at least seal it or paint white.
Luan plywood would be perfect. Many cabinet builders use it for that purpose. I would advise staining or painting (whatever your finish is) to the panels before attaching to the cabinets. Glue with wood glue and then nail into place.
Another vote for luan. Very inexpensive and easy to use.
I would use plywood to replace the backs however if you are hanging them on the wall you will need some kind of braces to secure them so they will stay on the wall.
