Yes, we need a picture to see the kind and the extent of the damage you are asking about. A few years back when we bought our house, we did notice the tub was very thin on the bottom and soon did give out. To repair we used Bondo-it was a cheap, practical, really ugly repair and that held up for awhile, but ended up replacing.
Get a tub repairman in your area. I did this for years and the kits look terrible and many times the repair that I did would be so good, no one would know
