How can I deter dogs from using my garden as a bathroom?

What the best home remedy to stop the cats and dogs fowling on my grass. I have 2 dogs of my own and since other dogs have been in my garden I can't stop my dogs from doing it as I've always got them to do it on the patio. Easier for me to clean up.

Try a spray bottle mixture of cayenne pepper and water in areas you dont want them to go on

You can always put a sign up to discourage neighbors from allowing their dogs to use your grass, however with outdoor cats, it is unlikely you will be able to keep them from using your grass.

There is a feral cat that uses my yard; I would never do anything harmful to stop the practice. I have been told that coffee grounds repel cats. Spent coffee grounds can be obtained from local coffee houses in quantity if requested in advance and picked up. They need to be replenished; however, they are also good fertilizer for your lawn, I am told. Try your local Starbucks to recycle their grounds. Good luck.

  • Train your dogs, but honestly that is kinda mean, dogs like grass to do their business. Just train them to use a certain area. I have 6 and that's what I did with mine. As to neighboring animals, use a motion activated sprinkler and/or put up a sign.

My dogs are too old to retrain now. They've only been doing this for a short time as they were trained to do on the patio whilst at home. When out on the dog park they do it there and it's picked up

Hi! I know my neighbor used a motion activated sprinkler and lights to protect his garden. Unfortunately, some owners aren't responsible about keeping track of or cleaning up after their dogs. Good luck!
