Floral End Table

Turn that old garage sale find into a beautiful statement piece!

Simple project anyone can do!

..The result! People will think you had painted these flowers!

We found this cute little end table at a local sale for practically nothing!

Great bones, working sides.. just eh, not so pretty.. Yet!

To start, the prep work..

i grabbed my Dixie Belle White Lightening Cleaner and some paper towels to make sure all the grime was cleared, then a quick wash with water to ensure all the residue was off and clean.

Now onto the fun part!

I took one of my trusty Dixie Belle Synthetic Blend Brushes and applied 2 quick coats of Dixie Belle Paint in Dried Sage. This is by far one of my favorite colors! It’s a great neutral with a light grayish greenish undertone & the best part, it dries super fast! I’m all about immediate gratification!!

Within minutes this paint is dry.. & onto the distressing!!

I love hitting the most common scuffed areas with a low grit sandpaper, usually 100.

Gently glide the sandpaper over these areas with slight pressure and the paint will peel back. You can go as heavy or light as you’d like.. or not at all. I just prefer making my finds look a little worn.

once you have this done, I hit the entire piece with a fine grit Sanding sponge, usually a 220. This will knock that gritty chalk feeling off the piece and finish to a buttery soft coat! Less pressure is more, I barely scuff, just run a few passes over, you will feel the difference!

Now, you can finish this..

But I thought this girl needed a little something still..

If you’re satisfied up till now, I brush on a quick coat (or 2) of Dixie Belle Gator Hide, just to seal my work and protect it from water spills and high traffic.

However, I went one step further and then sealed after ;)

These gorgeous transfers from ReDesign with Prima are amazing! AND super simple!

I chose these delicate little flowers, just to tie this End Table together.

It’s as easy and cut, peel, still, burnish and viola!

I’m going to post a step by step process for these transfers!

& let me tell ya, you’ll probably be as hooked as I am!!

And here she is!

That old dark table that was probably headed to the landfill was brought back to life with a little love!

This may be one of my top 10 favorite flips thus far!

So shabby, so chic, so NOW

Here’s a picture of the items I used to create this little beauty!

Happy Painting!!
