What's the best somewhat "cheap" counter replacement?

I want to replace my old Formica counters with something nicer, but not too expensive because its not our "forever" home. Any suggestions?

Formica is going to be your least expensive option. When you get to quartz or natural stones, the price3s go up substantially.

There are really beautiful laminates now. I agree with Cloe

You can sometimes find butcher block for a good price. But new Formica will still be cheaper.

Hello Brenda. I found a very cheap laminate counter at Lowes, and it looks very nice. I wanted a stone one but they were too expensive. I was so surprise how nice the laminate counters look now a days.

If you dont want to fully replace, you can cover them with marble contact paper. I found some one amazon that's fairly durable / water resistant and looks shiny like real polished stone.

You just clean the counters well then stick it down and smooth it out.
