How can I find and fix a terrible odor coming from the sink drain?

I HAVE A NASTY SPELL COMING FROM THE SINK DRAIN..WHAT CAN I USE TO GET RID OF IT

    Dump a good handful of baking soda into the drain, let sit (don't run any water) for 15 minutes, then pour 1/4 to 1/2 cup white vinegar down. Watch the bubbles, hear the pops and fizz, and let it sit for another 15 minutes. Then, boiling water and voila! It will be right as rain … at least for about six weeks.

    Maybe a plumber. If there is a smell, then there is a reason. I know that if some drains, like floor drains for instance, don’t get used for a bit, gasses will back up and fill the air with fragrances of eeeewww.... sometimes it’s an issue that a plumber needs to tend to. Last time I was on wish, they had a lighted endoscope that works with your cellphone to allow you to look and see , for only about $6 or so. In the meantime, good old fashioned baking soda ...

  • Sprinkle some baking soda in the drain, pour in some vinegar, let it sit, flush with hot water and repeat as necessary.

    Also pour 1/2 cup Clorox, don’t lean over drain in case of splash. Sometimes sides of pipes are coated in smelly slime
