How do I build doors for a bookshelf ?

Shoes have taken over my hallway! So I wanted to repurpose 2 bookshelves 35” in height and 32” width and make doors for them. I have a table saw but no router. My husband and I are pretty handy. Any ideas suggestions?

If you have no router, I would make sliding doors something like barn doors and keep one area open with just a few books and maybe some decorative items. Otherwise you could just attach hinges onto a narrow strip on each end.

This is not a bookshelf but my husband made some small barn doors for a cat box cabinet he made. He used closet hardware so it was pretty cheap. If you have or could add some wood at the top this may be an option for you. https://michellejdesigns.com/cat-litter-box-furniture/
