Wall trim will do that since it expands and contracts with weather conditions. I like a silicone caulk for that since it has some elastic qualities. Any caulk will eventually shrink and pull away from the wall, but some are better than others. Here is a review of some of the caulks and howto use them.

They make some great paintable caulk. That will help fill in any gaps.
Hello there,
Add Caulk or Trim or maybe toothpaste (not the gel type)
It may be from the floor shrinking/expanding from humidity. If baseboard is more securely fastened to floor than wall and floor shrinks,it will take the baseboard with it. Solution, remove and clean up then fasten to wall only, caulk only between baseboard and wall,no caulk at floor.
Check the room or crawlspace under the areas that have the issue. You may have a water issue or there may not be sufficient venting.
