My friend and I made a beautiful small shower stall that size. It is part of an overall bathroom re-do to make a farm house guest bathroom with an opening to outside for visitors to our little farm to use.

We put in one wall to create a side. (On the outside of this wall is where we put the vanity and sink). My friend put on tile. It could have been laminate, but The Home Depot had inexpensive tile, which I fell in love with. It looks like the sort of wood one would have on an old cabin or even a brown dirt hill. Wood grain, brown. I found a box of glass tile and we put that on the back wall. It is green, brown and tan and blue. It looks like a waterfall. Putting that on was not easy and took a l ong time. They sell grout for glass tile, which is an absolute must. The floor we made with lighter wood colored tiles in a sort of circular pattern. It looks like water going down a drain. This tile is deliberately not slick to make it safe to stand on in the shower. I got a shower sprayer at a garage sale-- new and never used (1 dollar). I had another friend do the plumbing on the drain and this shower sprayer with hose. He charged only $100 and he replaced the toilet and installed it for free. We found a beautiful shower curtain for a regular shower cheap at ebay.. (5 dollars new-- forest of hardwood trees) I planned to cut it down smaller but turns out it looks good despite being for a 6 foot shower So, inside our shower looks a like a waterfall between two brown walls with a wood on the shower curtain in front.

Except for the shower sprayer which is silver , I made my own fixtures using black pipe fittings in the plumbing section of The Home Depot-- towel racks, TP holder, lamps, chandelier, and so on.

In short, it was fun. I never did any remodeling before. I realized the best way is to start with an image and a theme and work from there. Don't do anything way past your skill level or the skill level of people working with or for you. If you do, you will need to pay a specialist to do it, even if your friends say they will do their best. Similarly, consider your budget. You can buy new stuff from Bed Bath and Beyond or other companies or you can scrounge and figure things out. Best is not to be in a mad rush so you don't have to worry if you take a few days to find the piece you want. The more you rush, the more likely it is going to cost 2-10 times as much as it would if you go at a moderate price.

Enclosure?, as in what do you have there now?

    For your planning:

Health & Safety Codes dictate that the impervious (Water proof) wall finish must be 72” above the shower pan.

Any glass door must be “Safety” glass, as in either tempered or laminated.

The shower head must be 60” AFF.

In some states, the faucet must have a built-in anti-scalding control.

Do you want to build a shower stall in a space that presently has water pipes and a drain, or in a space that presently does not have a drain, sink, or faucets?

What is the floor made out of in the space where you want a shower?

Please tell us a little more about the space you have to work with.

Posting a picture would help us to instantly see what type of room it is.
