How can I help an Encore Azelea plant grow?

This is what I started using on mine last year and it has made them blossom. I also add coffee grounds to the soil. This year has been crazy hot (zone 7b) and even watering hasn't done enough to make them bloom like normal but they are on their second bloom, or at least some of them are.

When you repotted the plant did you separate the roots out? One of the first steps I take to repot a plant is to shake the roots out and if they are too tightly wound, I cut into the clump to spread them. If they are tight in a pot there is a possibility the roots will continue to grow into the mass rather than spread. It stunts the plant and may even kill it.

I agree with the comment above. The roots are the biggest issue when it comes to Azalea plants. You might need to repot it and make sure root ball is spread out

Good suggestions above; I'm going to add a few more. Be sure to use high quality potting soil, a pot that has been sanitized and make the pot has adequate drainage. Add some Ozmecote (time release fertilizer) to the soil or use other fertilizer. Keep the pot in an area that is shade or shade/sun. Full sun can be too much for an azalea.

The "Encore" variety is quite nice with the two bloom periods. I have a background of working in a growing and retail nursery and this particular grouping is usually a dependable plant.

See how your plant does- but I've seen them at their best in the ground with shade/sun.
