Hey furniture experts—I’m picking a dresser (vertical chest of 5 drawers) and I noticed a few of my top picks have different drawer heights new projects in kanjurmarg .In one the top drawer Is 4.25” high and the rest of the drawers are 6.25”. 2 bhk flat in vikhroli In the other dresser, all the drawers are 5.5”.What types of clothes does each drawer height afford storing the best? I new projects in dadar guess I am most specifically worried about if 4.25” is too shallow for a large collection of socks?Which design is best for a bedroom dresser? (Five uniform 5.5” high drawers or a top drawer 4.25 and four 6.25”?)

It’s just a matter of individual taste and what you plan to put in the drawers. Sort out in piles what is going in each drawer and see what you will need.

maybe the 4.25" one could hold collection of neatly rolled up ties;I'd for sure pick the best made all solid wood dresser with mechanisms that are sturdy will not fall apart after repeatedly opening and closing. you can always figure out later what to put in them, that being said the deeper the better for the drawers so I'd pick the one with 4.25 and 6.25" drawers

    Hi,

4.25" should be great for socks (roll them up) or small things you want be be at hand. Hankies, Neck ties/Scarves, Belts etc.. Undies next drawer - Bedwear next - Shorts/Shirts - Jumpers. Hope that's of some help.

Another consideration, besides just the measurement of the drawers, in

purchasing a dresser, is how easy it is to put your hand inside the drawer to retrieve objects of clothing.

Often folks with larger hands find that they bump their fingers or knuckles a great deal when trying to reach to the back of shallow height drawers, or drawers that do not pull out very far.

I would suggest that you take a couple of items of clothing with you when shopping. Fold or roll your socks, tshirts, etc. the way you usually do, then try putting them in the drawers, close the drawer, open it, and retrieve the item. Play around with the handles or knobs also to see what fits your hands the best.

Doing so could eliminate the after-purchase frustration of being stuck with a unit that may not be the best size for your everyday needs.
