How do I attach door knobs that do not need to turn?

There are ball catchers in place that keep door shut. Just need to attach wooden handles with metal sticks between knobs for some and one just one sided knob to push/pull for closet. I also cut and shaped wooden plates to hide any wood putty. (This question was asked before but the kind answer came back in computer code)
If they do not need to turn, why not use knobs?
One option for the two-sided knob is to use water spigot handles with a bolt run through the door and tightened. Same idea for the single knob, just use a piece of wood or metal for the backside, with bolt tightened.
I sprayed with white vinegar, then scrubbed with baking soda. Rinse and dry well.
The easiest to do would be to cover the holes in the door with the wood plates on both sides. Glue them on and some small nails to hold them in place. Then drill a hole about one inch below the covered hole for the knob rod. Do not drill through the large hole. Then install the knobs. Paint the wood plates same color as the door.
Hi Kim you could use dummy door knobs, yes that is what they are called they have no active mechanism they just facilitate pulling open the doors
