How can I soundproof an apartment from the noise of an Amazon parrot?

Not sure where Amazons fall on the loudness meter but I once lived in the area where a white and yellow bird lived...on the opposite side of the street and down about four houses...and that bird was loud! It went crazy each afternoon when 'its'' kids came home from school. After I found out what it was I just enjoyed its' joy each afternoon but I didn't live in the same building. Even if you padded all the walls in your apartment I'm not sure it would help much.

Draperies and tall full bookcases.

Moluccan cockatoo- 135 decibels

Nanday conure- 155 decibels

Mealy amazon- 124 decibels

Did they just move in? Seems like even if place is pet friendly management should let neighbors know about a pet this loud either moving in or if you just moved in. Maybe you can get out of lease. Or maybe apt. complex will pay for sound proofing blankets on adjoining wall. worth it to check it out.I worked at bird store for awhile we actually were given earplugs at hire on.

I would think that would be very difficult to do since you don't own the place. They do make sound proofing panels but I'm not sure that will completely quiet the noise so that the neighbors aren't disturbed.
