Clean regularly and make sure they have a weather resistant finish.
Thanks for answering so quickly. All responses were helpful. Sometimes more info is needed to get an accurate answer. The blog was very enlightening.
First, clean off all the rust and corrosion with a wire brush and sandpaper,
untill you see only nice clean metal. Then paint with a good coat or two of
" RUST OLIUM " primer. After that dries, paint with 2 or 3 coats of
" RUST OLIUM " paint, ( Color you like ). It will look fantastic !!!
