How can I effectively clean soap scum in the shower?

Sprinkle a large amount of baking soda on a cloth or sponge, dampen and scrub. For tougher soap scum build up, you can also try making a paste out of baking soda and vinegar. Let the paste sit on the stain and then scrub. The acidity in the vinegar will help break down the scum.

After you get your shower clean, use a squeegee to remove the water from the walls then wipe them with a microfiber cloth. Takes seconds to do and it makes regular cleaning a breeze.

Wet & forget shower for a slower, no scrub solution. You can use 2x a week to accelerate the cleaning process then once a week to keep it clean.

make paste of baking soda and some Dawn dish soap (dawn cuts greasy scum from soap and body oils) get yourself a nice new stiff tiolet brush (easier to reach all around shower/tub areas) then add a little really hot water/ boiling is better scrub everything keep plug in drain so it doesn't get washed down drain. let it sit at least 10-15 minutes then rescrub with solution in stall/tub then rinse with hottest water available using boiling water will help clean drains too. If you have mineral deposits use straight vinegar after scrubbing to remove it. if it is in any areas that you cannot let vinegar sit on deposits then soak wash cloth with vinegar and lay over areas like faucets,edges then scub with vinegar and scrubber sponge(if it's on walls moisten a paper towel and put on wall moisten just enuf that it sticks on surface/maybe like bottom of glass or tile walls under faucets ) rinse well with hottest water. shower/glass in bathroom use rubbing alcohol on clean no fabric softener on it(causes streaking/smearing) pour on cloth and wipe outside of shower one direction and inside another so you can see where you have missed any spots.dries ASAP no residue. once soap scum is off walls keep a small bottle of Dawn dish soap in shower/tub area along with your new toilet brush for scrubbing and use it to keep soap scum from building up. if you have time really quick right after shower before it dries on surfaces makes it really easy so it always stays clean.
