Gold Metallic Terracotta Flower Pots
Holly from ! used All-in-One Decor Paint and Metallic Cream to turn her simple, terracotta flower pots into adorable, trendy home decor in just a few minutes! Read on to find out how you can make these right at home.
Supplies
- Pocket Watch Metallic Cream
- Fresh Mustard All-in-One Decor Paint
- Jitterbug All-in-One Decor Paint (or other colour of your choice)
- Foam brush
- Terracotta pot
Step One:
Using a foam brush, paint the bottom portion of the terracotta pot up to the rim with All-in-One Decor paint. You can use any colour of All-in-One Decor paint that you like. For this tutorial, I am using Jitterbug.
Be sure to paint the top part of the rim as well or you will see terracotta colour peeking out.
Step Two:
After the All-in-One Decor paint on the terracotta pot has dried, use a foam brush and paint the rim of the terracotta pot with Fresh Mustard All-in-One Decor paint. Allow to dry fully. On terracotta, All-in-One Decor paint dries within 10-15 minutes.
Step Three:
Once the Fresh Mustard has dried, use a foam brush and apply a layer of Pocket Watch all around the rim.
Country Chic Paint's Metallic Cream has almost like a pudding type consistency so make sure you don’t glob on too much.
Make sure you apply the Pocket Watch to the rim as well to cover the Fresh Mustard.
Step Four:
Once the Pocket Watch has dried, you can assess your project to see if a second coat of Pocket Watch is required. For my pots, I did just one coat but if you want the gold to be really shiny you can do another coat.
I love how vibrant and real the Pocket Watch looks when you overlay it on the Fresh Mustard.
You can use this technique on so many different surfaces to give your projects that real gold look.
I also added in these little gold designs all over the pot by just stroking on the Pocket Watch with the end of a foam brush.
