I would verify that what you are being presented as quarts, versus quartzite, are really what they say they are!
I know a lot about the properties of natural stone, and their applications.
Please let us know exactly what you were looking at, thank you.
these are quartzite tiles
I am just looking for some feedback about what is the better option - the natural quartzite, or the manyfactured quartz.... I had granite counters in the old house, but theres a buzz about quartz and quartzite counters, and I was looking for some feedback about personal preference and experience.
Thank you Cheryl.
Quartz is man made with quartzite crystals and resins. Almost no maintenance. Heat, and stain resistant. Quartzite is a natural stone that does require maintenance and sealing like granite and marble. Personally I would choose quartz over quartzite because it barely requires any maintenance like natural stone.
Thank you William
I have quartz composite counters and I absolutely love them.
I think you'll be happy with either one. But as mentioned above, the maintenance on quartz will be slightly less than quartzite. It's also a matter of aesthetic preference. Quartzite tends to have more variation to it, white quartz will generally have a more consistent look.
