My mom always used sprayed the glass with vinegar and wiped them down with newspapers. Seemed to work back in the day.
Glass where? House windows outside I use Windex in the hose attachment spray bottle and a squeegee on a long pole. The bottle has a little dial on top to flip between rinse water and the solution, and leaves the glass sparkling clean. I save the bottle to re-use to wash my car, apply weed stuff to the lawn, clean blinds.
Other things that clean glass well are a bit of ammonia in water or vinegar in water and use crumpled newspapers to dry the glass for a no-lint finish. If you have a lime residue on glasses, pop a couple Polident denture cleaner in water to soak them in.
I use windex and newspaper to wipe it off.
