I would install an inexpensive ceiling track (you can get on- line and home improvement stores) and hang fabric panels (like those in the ER)...you can change out the fabric to match your decor.
You can hinge sitters together.
If the room is big enough, you could get bookcases. Screw the together, alternating one facing one way, then the next facing the other way. With baskets on the shelves, that gives storage to both sides of the divided room. Be sure to secure them to the floor and ceiling.
