How do I get rid of animals that are making holes in my tan bark?

Found large holes in my tan bark esp. around the house foundation. How can I deter animals from doing this again. Thankfully, they didn't did up my recently planted hydrangea.

Where do you live? Lots of possibilities. Moles, voles, gophers, ground squirrels, etc.
Small sachets of mothballs may solve your problem.
Try sprinkling some "Blood Meal" around the base of your foundation to see if this will deter them. It works for squirrels. and stops them from digging up bulbs.
There are many ways to deter animals but have you a clue what they are? Things from various scents to plastic snakes & owls. Human hair or dirty cat litter.
